He was predeceased by : his wife Pat Barrett; his daughter Tami Banks (Bill); his parents, Freddie Barrett and Mattie Delene Collins Barrett; and his siblings, Julius Barrett, John D. Barrett, Betty Payne, Ethelene Johnson and Willadean Motes.

He is survived by : his children, Bonnie Dickey (Terry) and Shane Barrett (Leigh Anne); his grandchildren, April Vining, Rachel Reddell (Marty), Angela Horn (Chuck), Emily Hatcher (Jason), Conner Banks, Bailey Barrett and Morgan Barrett; and his brother Lamar Barrett (Anette). He is also survived by his 14 great grandchildren; his 5 great-great grandchildren.
