With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Unafae Busby Sides of Calera, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 19, 2025 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Busby and Lillian Hardaman Busby; her husband John Harvell Sides, Sr.; her son-in-law Michael "Tony" Rochester; her brothers, Gordon Busby and Roger "Tim" Busby; and her sister-in-law Lois Busby.
She is survived by: her children, DeAnn "Dee" Rochester and John "Randy" Harvell Sides, Jr. (Mary Ann); her grandchildren, Kelly Rochester Denna (Adam), Kari Rochester Sweat (Andrew) and Kristen Sides; her great grandchildren, Brooks, Nixon, Sawyer and Slayton; her brother Eugene Busby (Jane); her sister-in-law Eleanor Busby; her nieces and nephews, Vicky Johnson (Jeff), Vivian Smith, Brenda Busby, Christy Shoemaker, Bethany Raygoza (Omar), Lindsay Czarnecki (Kevin), Wendell Garner and Ellis Garner, Jr. (Glynda); and her pet Prissy.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo) (3715 AL-25, Montevallo, AL 35115). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
