She was predeceased by : her parents, Sanford Mingus and Paralee Coleman Mingus; her spouse Lee Amos; her son Richard Amos; and her siblings, Sally, Mamie, Fannie, Celia and John.

She is survived by : her daughter Glenda Massey of Snellville, Georgia; and her grandchildren, Shane Massey (Brandy) of Loganville, Ben Massey of Snellville, Georgia and Angie Hawkins of Leicester. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
