With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elton Shinn (Chunchula, Alabama), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 1, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Marie Elizabeth Butler Shinn; his wife Jo Ann Taylor Shinn; and his father John Shinn, Jr.. He is survived by: his son Jason Shinn of Fairburn, GA; his siblings, Martin Shinn (Lucy), Carlotta Russell and Johnnie Lee Shinn (Mable); his nephew Michael Anthony Shinn; and his children, Marie Elizabeth Shinn (Butler), Daisy Mae Edwards (Shinn), Clabrone Lemerle Shinn, Veola Colley (Shinn), J. C. Shinn, Lena Shinn, Edna Joyce Fortune (Shinn) and Walter Shinn. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
