He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara "Bobby" Mowdy; and his parents, Hill Mowdy and Earline Mowdy. He is survived by: his children, Jill Mowdy, Drew Mowdy (Melinda) and Rick Mowdy (Lonetta); his grandchildren, Samantha Motes (Adam), Dylan Mowdy (Jessica), Claudia Denmark (Garret), Hannah Bush (Caleb), Rebekah Mowdy (Eeyon) and Samuel Mowdy; his great grandchildren, Wendell, Camille, Alice, Ramona, Mamie and Elijah; his pet Rocky; his sister Judith McClung; and his sisters-in-law, Marjorie Klinger Peterson and Susie Klinger.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cross Point Baptist Church (8395 W State St, Citronelle, AL 36522). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at the Pine Crest Cemetery.
He will be remembered not only for his contributions to his community and career but, more importantly, for the love he shared with his family and friends.
