He was predeceased by: his former wife Genevieve B. Rowell; his son Joe Smith; his parents, Raymond Rowell and Ruth Rowell; his siblings, Paul Gene Rowell, Bobby Rowell, Wesley Rowell, Joe Rowell, Cliff Rowell, Ruth Ella Miller and Malcolm Rowell; and his son-in-law Dickie Lowe.
He is survived by: his children, Jackie Lowe, Jamie Clanton (Doug), Jeff Smith (Sandra), Deborah Ladner and Mark Rowell; his grandchildren, Gretchen Lang (Chris), Brandi Turner (Dwayne), Baylee Smith (Daryl), Tyler Clanton (Liana), Chasity Lowe, Chase Smith, Kenneth Bedgood, Shaun Bedgood (Kristen), Justin Ladner and Ashton Ladner; and his brother Carl David Rowell (Beverly).
Visitation was held on Monday, April 27th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Home Baptist Church (17324 Brannan Fork Rd, Citronelle, AL 36522). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 27th 2026 at the New Home Cemetery (17324 Brannan Fork Rd, Citronelle, AL 36522).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to New Home Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or that you honor his memory by doing something kind for someone as he so often did.
