She was predeceased by: her parents, Horace Greely Popwell and Mamie Wilson Popwell; and her husband Joseph Randle Teel. She is survived by: her children, Laura Serviss (Michael) of Cottondale, Sara Kern McGee (Ashley) of Cottondale and Joseph Teel (Pam) of Clanton; her grandchildren, Casey Snider Denson (Jeremy) of Vestavia Hills, Taylor Randle Kern (Zoe) of Huntington Beach, CA, Joseph Patrick Kern (Tori) of Vestavia Hills, Madeline Elizabeth Kern of Decatur, GA, Briar Caleb Teel (Allison) of Decatur, GA and Dylan Gage Teel (Marlyn) of Reidsville, GA; and her great grandchildren, Thomas Denson, Fitzgerald Kern, Flora James Kern, Michael Kern, Evelyn Kern and Joseph E. Kern.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home (1709 Lay Dam Rd, Clanton, AL 35045). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at the Chilton Memorial Gardens (1104 Harrier St, Clanton, AL 35045).
No flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the Clanton First Baptist Church Pre-K Program — a cause dear to Barbara's heart and reflective of her lifelong love for children and community.
