He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Smitherman and Alzie Bice Smitherman; his wife Shirley Smitherman; his son Ronald Walker; his grandson Jason Price; and his siblings, Shirley Ann Owens, Donald Smitherman and Larry Smitherman.
He is survived by: his children, P. Elaine Mims (Michael) of Clanton, David Smitherman of Clanton and Mary Timbs (Billy) of Clanton; and his siblings, Jerry Smitherman (Annette) of Jessup, GA, Linda Warr (Pete) of Verbena and Patricia Cleckler of Clanton. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren.
