James William Gentry Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of James William Gentry of Clanton, Alabama. James, born on June 4, 1957, passed away on September 7, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lamar "Slim" Gentry and Mildred Clow Smith Gentry; and his grandson Cain Vinson. He is survived by: his wife Renee Gentry; his children, Lacey Taylor and Alex Taylor; his sisters, Janice Kilgore and Paula Shaddix (Mike); his brother-in-law Marty Taylor (Marie); and his nieces and nephews, Timmy Taylor, Mark Taylor, Jodie Taylor and Cody Taylor.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery (16433 Co Rd 42, Jemison, AL 35085). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at the Mt. Springs Church (315 Co Rd 43, Clanton, AL 35045).
