He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther N Payton and Daisy Wainwright Payton; and his brothers, Charles Allen Payton of Clanton and Billy Wade Payton of Birmingham. He is survived by: his wife Wanda; his children, Gayle Payton of Clanton and Dale Payton (Judy) of Birmingham; his stepchildren, Kristin Calhoun of Clanton and Tim Reynolds of Chelsea; his granddaughters, Katie and Lauren Payton of Birmingham; his stepgrandsons, Brandon Calhoun of Portland, Carter Reynolds and Cole Reynolds of Chelsea; and his sister Gulma Hudson (Kenneth) of Clanton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
