She was predeceased by: her husband T. A. Hinkle; her daughter Faye Mims; her parents, John F Dempsey and Agnes Ester Dempsey; and her brothers, Henry Dempsey, Johnny Dempsey and Freddie Dempsey.

She is survived by: her daughter Janice Ann Powell (Randall); her siblings, Dorothy Ann Jones (Alton), Elizabeth Shivers and Ernie Dempsey; and her close friend Elder Foshee. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
