He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewel Melton and Wyonell Caton Melton; and his grandparents, Lelard, Mattie Nix Melton, Sim and Etta Knight Caton.
He is survived by: his wife Ericka Smith-Melton; his daughter Charlee Ann Smith; the mother of his children Melinda Cleckler; his children, Dana Bone (Derrick) and Jeremy Melton; his granddaughters, Addison Bone and Ally Bone; and his siblings, Wanda Slaughter (Michael), Lola Ellis (Larry) and Larry Melton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
