He is survived by: his wife Paulette Thompson of Clanton; his sons, Michael Thompson of Clanton and David Thompson (Jennifer) of Clanton; and his grandchildren, Heath Thompson (Frankie), Jeff Thompson (Ashley), Kristen Payton (Adam) and Tessa Short (Tristan). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
