He was predeceased by: his parents, G. H. Gandy and Ruth B. Gandy; his son Danny B. Gandy; and his siblings, Wayne Gandy and Docie Lee Dodd.
He is survived by: his son John Wesley Gandy, Jr. (Sherry); his grandsons, Wes Gandy and Corey Gandy (Kayla); his great grandchildren, Presley Gandy, Dawsyn Gandy, Tripp George and Reese George; his stepgrandchildren, Heather George (Chris) and Miles Snider (Kara); and his sisters, Nell Black and Faith Stagner (Billy Joe). He is also survived by nephews, and other family members and friends.
