We announce the death of Joyce Martin of Clanton, Alabama, who passed away on October 24, 2026, at the age of 76. Joyce will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Napoleon Connell and Irene Cleckler Connell; her daughter Carolyn Burdett; her grandson Cole Martin; and her siblings, Shirley Smitherman, Imagene Smitherman and Johnny Connell.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Martin of Clanton; her children, Charlene Driver (Kevin) of Clanton, Kristy Rhodes (Mike) of Clanton and Timmy Martin (Crystal) of Jemison; her grandchildren, Justin Martin (Kelly) of Calera, Tiffany Clark (Jody) of Clanton, Caleb Driver (Brianna) of Clanton, Hunter Rhodes (Courtney) of Jemison, Katie Burdett of Prattville, Blake Martin (Makaela) of Clanton, Phillip Rhodes (Victoria) of Clanton and Ashley Baker (Landon) of Clanton; her great grandchildren, Mason, William, Jolene, Ellie, Addie, Avery, Kaisyn, Lilly, Easton, Oakley, Kolton, Weston, Alayna, McKinley and Brynleigh; and her brothers, Tony Connell (Pam) of Clanton and Joe Connell (Elaine) of Clanton.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mineral Springs Baptist Church (8316 Co Rd 51, Clanton, AL 35046). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at the Mineral Springs Baptist Cemetery (8316 Co Rd 51, Clanton, AL 35046).
