He was predeceased by : his father John Royal; his half-brother John; and his former life partner Willetta (Love). He is survived by : his wife Shirley (Glass); his brother Ronald Mulhorn (Yvonne); his children, Constance McAllister (Joseph), Karen Smith and John Mulhorn (Tatiana); his stepdaughter Alicia Dobbs; his grandchildren, Jordan McAllister, Erica Mulhorn, Alexandra Hickman (Derek), Joseph McAllister (Anna), Jacqueline Ellis (Joseph), Samantha Smith, Sydney Smith, Chloe Mulhorn, John Riley Mulhorn and Ryann Mulhorn; and his great grandchild Isabella Love Ellis.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Roy's memory may be made to the Clanton First United Methodist Church.
