It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruben Ray Smitherman of Clanton, Alabama, who passed away on March 2, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruben Smitherman and Willie Mae Smitherman Wright; and his brothers, Van Thomas and Willie Smitherman. He is survived by: his son Jeff Brown (Christine); and his siblings, Wendall Smitherman, Ronald Lynn Smitherman (Carol), Danny Thomas, Delilah Smitherman (Eddie), Tina Lewis (Dewayne), Sweet Davis (Kevin) and Cathy Cartwright.
