He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Daniel Carlin and Beula Mae Carlin; his son David Carlin; his siblings, Carolyn Carlin and Melton Carlin; his grandson James Settle; and his great grandchild Elizabeth Woods.

He is survived by: his wife Regena Carlin; and his daughters, Terry Settle (Kevin), Trisha Layton (James), Beth Kryscuk (Roy) and Jennifer Williams. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren; 17 Great-Grandchildren.
