With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ernie Maye of Clayhatchee, Alabama, who passed away on August 24, 2025 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Cleveland Maye and Dorothy Nadine Maye; and his brother Cleveland Maye. He is survived by: his wife Dede Maye of Clayhatchee, AL; his son Chris Maye of Birmingham, AL; his grandchildren, Madison Maye of Birmingham, AL, Mackenzie Maye of Birmingham, AL and Sean Smith (Brittany) of Luverne, AL; his great grandchildren, Sam and Seth Smith of Luverne, AL; his siblings, Becky Clark of Myrtle Beach, SC, Tori Weeks of Dothan, AL and Gary Maye (Rene) of Dothan, AL; his niece Cassie McGraw (Jason) of St Marys, GA; his great-nephew Jackson; his great-niece Jillian; his niece Jamie Altgilbers; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Adelei, Jameson and David; his nephew Russell Sconyers of Birmingham, AL; his mother-in-law Bobbie Spriggs of Clayhatchee, AL; and his pets, Suzie Q and Sweetie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
