He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Mcgilvary and Ethel Land Mcgilvary; and his siblings, Irene Benefield, Elizabeth Moore, Dorothy Baker and Bill McGilvary.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Morrison McGilvary; and his children, Winston Cordell of Texasville, Alabama and Marie Harbin (Tony) of Louisville. He is also survived by five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel (72 S Midway St, Clayton, AL 36016). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at the Pleasantview Presbyterian Church (36 Sid Bush Rd, Clayton, AL 36016).
