He was predeceased by: his significant other Lisa Carpenter; his parents, Tal Carpenter, Sr. and Fannie Danford Carpenter; his sister Mary Ella Carpenter; his grandson Stone Lake Woodham; his great grandchild Landry Jane Fowler; and his parents-in-law, Robert Royce Tillman and Alice Grantham Tillman.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kymberly Carpenter Keahey (Randy) of Andalusia, Alabama and Lana Carpenter Jordan (Andy "Backstrap") of Eufaula, Alabama; his grandson Jake Woodham of San Diego, California; his daughter Lee Jordan (Ali) of Eufaula; his grandchildren, Laiken Jordan and Lexie Keahey Fowler (Christopher) of Andalusia; his great grandchildren, Ella Lake Fowler, Mary Kate Fowler and Reid Tillman Fowler; his grandson R. J. Keahey of Andalusia, Alabama; his brother Tal Jr. Carpenter (Judy) of Wetumpka, Alabama; his sisters-in-law, Tami Tillman Robinson (Mike) of Eufaula, Alabama and Karen Tillman Williams (Marshall III) of Clayton, Alabama; and his caregivers, Shirlene Upshaw and Jenni Ingram. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 1:00 PM. Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Pine Level Baptist Church (1110 Co Rd 33, Louisville, AL 36048).
