He is survived by: his wife Peggy Sykes Burch; his children, Jenny Merkl (Tim) and Thomas Burch, Jr. (Nancy); his grandchildren, Thomas Burch, III, Amy Burch, Timothy Merkl (Kathy), Lorie McBride (Matt) and John Merkl (Abby); and his great grandchildren, Jack, Carolyn, Connor, Emilia, Sarah Kathryn, Jacob, Zoey Merkl, Colin, Claire and Vivian McBride.
A funeral service was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 at 10:15 AM at the Alabama National Cemetery (3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115).
