David L. McVey Obituary
The passing of David L. McVey of Cragford, Alabama, born in Ashland, Alabama leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on October 4, 2025 at the age of 62. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ray and Dorothy Ann East McVey; and his brothers, Michael Ray McVey and Charles Franklin McVey. He is survived by: his wife Sharon A. McVey of Cragford; his sons, Ashley McVey (Ashley) of Talladega and Dusty Lynn McVey of Mellow Valley; his stepson John F. Mayer II (Tonya) of Birmingham; his grandchildren, Lyra Driggers, Madison McVey, Ava McVey, John "Trey" Mayer III, Charles William Mayer and Lydia Michelle Mayer; and his siblings, Lisa Waldrop (Felix) of Lineville and Phillip McVey (Tracy) of Opelika. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Benefield Funeral Home (89076 AL-9, Lineville, AL 36266). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
