He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Hamilton and Opal Hamilton; and his siblings, DeLoris Miller, Raymond Hamilton and Bobby Hamilton.

He is survived by: his wife Ann Hamilton; his children, Lisa Heitzman (Robert) and Walter Dale Hamilton; his grandchildren, Melissa Glenn (Brian), Kerri Nichols (Ben), Stephanie Fox (Ryan) and Brook Hinds; his great grandchildren, Skyler Lambert, Austin Lambert and Xander Malloy; his sister Brenda Varnado; and his sister-in-law Doris Jean Hamilton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
