He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Bertis and Lillie Eunice Black Gibbs; his wife Mary Gibbs; his son Clenton Gibbs; his grandchildren, Tamelia Lemons, Anthony Smith and Crystal Smith; his great grandchild Jacob Watwood; and his great great grandchild Bentley Watwood.
He is survived by: his daughters, Patricia Kilpatrick and Deborah Goggins; his siblings, Kenneth Gibbs, Reba Vaughn and Ezell Gibbs; his grandchildren, Jimmy Kilpatrick (Audy), Jerry Kilpatrick (LaMoyne), Tammy Carpenter (Paul), Shelia Smith (Derick), Brandi Watwood, Jonathan Watwood and Zach Goggins; and his great grandchildren, Brandon Smith (Lauren), Wesley Smith, Emily McDonald (Ryan), Robin Carpenter (Emily), Casey Carpenter (Teena), Cloie Watwood, Jackson Golden, Katie Watwood, Chris Golden, Leah Gillilan (Riley), Kelsee Smith, Justin Kilpatrick (Holly), Jeremy Kilpatrick (Shannon), Jeff Kilpatrick (Amy) and Brian Kilpatrick. He is also survived by 17 great great grandchildren; one great great great grandchild; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cullman Funeral Home Chapel (461 US-278, Cullman, AL 35055). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
