He was predeceased by: his parents, Madie Waters and Hosie Waters; his wife Susan Waters; and his sister Patti Hollis. He is survived by: his children, Carrie Thomas (Ryan) of Guntersville, Melanie Townson (Matt) of Cullman and Nathan Waters (Maggie) of Auburn; his grandchildren, Riley Thomas, Tyler Thomas, Lanie Townson, Max Townson, Addie Townson, Baylor Waters and Paxton Waters; his niece Emily Tate (Steve) of Milton, GA; and his brother-in-law Frazier Hollis of Toccoa, GA..
