He is survived by: his sons, Jeremy Cockrell (Janet) and Destin Cockrell; his grandchildren, Grace, Eli and Kaleb Cockrell; and his sisters, Rose Collum (David) and Vestavia Johnston (Rodney). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
