He was predeceased by: his parents, Young Virgil Cooper and Era Agnes Murphree; his wife Jane Marie McCain of Crane Hill; and his brother Ferrell Cooper. He is survived by: his daughters, Catherine Suzanne Dillon of Birmingham and Andrea Neal (James) of Nashville, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Devin Thorne (Yumin) of Washington, DC, Callaway Dillon of Birmingham, Alabama and Lucas Dillon of Birmingham, Alabama; his sisters, Gayle Cooper of Charlottesville, Virginia and Frances Cooper of Cullman, Alabama; his niece Nancy Thibodeaux of Chicago, IL; his nephew Eddie Cooper; and his great-nieces, Hayley Cooper, Amalia Thibodeaux and Reza Thibodeaux.
