He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Waldo Self and Mary Grace Cupp Self; and his brother Victor Marion Self. He is survived by: his cousin Carole; his children, Mary Elizabeth Self Myers and Christopher Paul Self; his grandchildren, Zachary Christopher Myers, Jake Anthony Myers, Grace Landrum (Josh), Jackson Paul Self and Aubrey Diane Self; and his great-niece Malana Adea Champlin.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moss-Service Funeral Home (1901 2nd Ave NW, Cullman, AL 35055). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at the Cullman City Cemetery.
