He was predeceased by: his father John Gurganus; and his mother-in-law Margie Gurganus. He is survived by: his wife Rose McCluskey; his brother-in-law Philip Gurganus (Diane); and his nephew John David Gurganus (Becky).

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Springhill Baptist Cemetery.
