He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Lonergan and Mary Lonergan; and his mother-in-law Shirley Lonergan. He is survived by: his children, Melissa Buckmann, Molly Forestner (Dan) and Brian Lonergan; his grandchildren, Marc Buckmann, Daniel Forestner III, Finnian Forestner and Makenzie Forestner; and his close friend Suzanne Williams.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Small's Mortuary - Eastern Shore (8822 Co Rd 64, Daphne, AL 36526). A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
