He was predeceased by : his parents, John Eugene McLaughlin and Olga McLaughlin (Woik). He is survived by : his wife Barbara Hale Campbell; his sons, Tim (Dawn) of Gulf Breeze and Mike (Laura) of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Ian, Allison, Lauren, Annie and Nate; his former life partner Patricia Thomas; his sister Maureen; his nephews, Vance (Emma) and Trevor (Jennifer); his sister-in-law Pamela Gresham; and his nephews, Don (Gerri) and Bob Campbell (Rachel).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Fairhope-Point Clear Rotary Youth Club Attn: Director 19128 Young Street Fairhope, AL 36532.
