He is survived by : his wife Sonya Sampley Yates; his children, Tyler Yates and Morgan Yates Womble (Daniel); his mother Carolyn Hestla Yates; and his sister Regina Yates Raney (David). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
