She was predeceased by: her parents, Winston Hill and Betty Hill (Holly); her husband James Simmons; her son Donnie Wood; and her siblings, Jerome Hill, Gerald Hill, Earl Hill, Jeanette Summerford and Martha Ann Evans.
She is survived by: her son Steve Hancock (Shannon); her grandchildren, Blake Hancock of Childersburg, AL, Alivia Hancock and Collin Hancock of Thompson, ND.; her daughter Stefanie Lawrence; her grandchildren, Lindsey Silas of Deatsville, AL, Landon Lawrence (Tori) of Selma, AL., Taylor Wood (Kaitlyn) and Tyser Wood of Auburn, AL.; her great grandchildren, Brodie Hancock, Analeigh Silas, Brixton Wood and Chase Lawrence; and her siblings, Jimmy Hill (Cheryl), Burl Hill (Delane) and Geri Hurt (Gerald). She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren which all called her "Nana", and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Brookside Funeral Home (3360 Brookside Dr, Millbrook, AL 36054). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at the Brookside Memorial Gardens (3360 Brookside Dr, Millbrook, AL 36054).
