He is survived by: his father Earl Conway Opel; his wife Phyllis Langston Opel; his children, Michelle Opel Bernhard (Michael) of Traverse City, MI, Jennifer Wilson (Bob) of Dublin, CA, Sean Opel, Nathan Burchfield of Decatur, AL, Brandon Burchfield of Hueytown and Shawn Burchfield (Jamie) of Pleasant Grove; his grandchildren, Elexus Wilson, Lauren Opel, Sera Wilson, Sydney Burchfield, Jeremy Burchfield, Aaron Burchfield, Jessica Moeller and Jacob Merritt; and his great grandchild Zoey Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints (2006 Modaus Rd SW, Decatur, AL 35603). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
