He is survived by: his daughter Carrie Vaughan Montgomery; his girlfriend Linda Compton Turner; his brother Bob Vaughan (Jane); his stepsons, Bryant Perry (Oksana) and Brandon Perry (Victoria); his stepmother Betty Vaughan; and his grandchildren, Madison Montgomery, Kaitlin Montgomery, Addison Perry, Drake Perry, Raelyn Perry and Ronin Perry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hands Across Decatur or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, organizations that were close to Donny's heart.
