He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Harold Smith and Martha Porter Wilder; and his brother Charles Harold Smith. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Blackshear Smith; and his sons, Edward Wilder Smit, Jr. (Carol) of Florence, AL, Robert Franklin Smith (Libby) of Huntsville and Montgomery Alexander Smith (Elizabeth) of Demopolis. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, one great grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
