He was predeceased by : his parents, Elex Elliott, and Elsie Johnson Elliott, Sr.; his siblings, Ruby Brougham, Leathan Hayes, Louise Elliott, Bernice Swopes, Robert "John" Elliott, Elex Elliott, Jr., Albert "Bud" Elliott and James Edward "Jimmy" Elliott; and his siblings-in-law, Willie Boykin and Wanda Jean Wilkerson Elliott.

He is survived by : his niece Connie Elliott; his wife Irene Wiggins Elliott; his children, Corey Wayne Horton, Harold Ray Swopes (Gina) and Kiesha Elliott; his stepdaughter Tina Davis; his sisters, Sarah Boykin of Decatur, Elizabeth Swopes (William) of Decatur and Linda Watkins (Andrew) of Decatur; and his siblings-in-law, Patricia Garvin of Decatur, Ernestine Bell Elliott of Decatur, Stanley Wiggins of Decatur and Johnny Wiggins of Las Vegas, NV. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Viewing was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Reynolds Funeral Home (103 13th Ave NW, Decatur, AL 35601). The lying in state was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the First Missionary Baptist Church (233 Vine St NW, Decatur, AL 35601). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
