With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Doyd Brackin of Decatur, Alabama, who passed away on December 27, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Otho Brackin and Edna Brackin; his son Jay Brackin; and his siblings, Norma Wear (Kirk), Bill (Gwen) and Eddy Joe (Mary Alice).

He is survived by: his wife Maxine Crosswhite Brackin; his grandson Ethan (Teri); and his great grandchildren, Charlie and Olivia. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

Donations can be made to First Priority in lieu of flowers.
