He is survived by: his wife JoAnne Spears (Cowan); his children, James Vann Spears (Lori), Pamela Jane Newman (Larry) and Amanda Gail Stowe (Paul); his siblings, Bill Spears, Jerry Spears and Thelma Jean Post; and his grandchildren, Greta Danielle Howell (Matthew), Holly Michelle Talley (Jason), Meagan Amanda Snyder (Timothy), Brooke Emily Millsaps (Jonathan), Casey Ashton Smith (Ronald, III), Brett Morgan Stowe (Brittni Jo) and Kylie McKenzie Wiginton (Paiton). He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
