He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clifford Bethshares and Grace Senter Bethshares. He is survived by: his wife Martha Sue Orr Bethshares; his daughters, Susan Johnson (Newell), Elizabeth "Lizzy" Bethshares and Amy Orr (Arthur); his brother Jim Bethshares; and his grandchildren, Sarah Livingston (Boone), Amelia Johnson, Jack Orr, Anna Orr and Grace Johnson.
