He was predeceased by: his wife Jane. He is survived by: his children, John Michael Jr. (Monica) and Jennifer Gleason; and his grandchildren, Benjamin, Cody, Addison and Dylan.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Shelton Funeral Home (2105 Beltline Rd SW, Decatur, AL 35601). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel (2105 Beltline Rd SW, Decatur, AL 35601).
