He was predeceased by: his parents, Odie Atkins and Emma Atkins; his siblings, Hollan, Ralph, Bobbie Carl Atkins and Margie Whitt; his siblings-in-law, Marvin Whitt, Eugene Thornton and Imogene Atkins; and his grandson Michael Woodruff.
He is survived by: his wife Syble Atkins; his daughters, Tina Atkins, Alison Stowers (Kris) and Monica Cottingham (Brad); his stepsons, Phillip Woodruff (Daphne), Scott Woodruff (Teresa) and Todd Woodruff (Leah); his grandchildren, Jordan Walker (Nick), Luke Stowers (Rebecca), Austin Stowers (Katelyn), Landon Cottingham, Greg Woodruff, Haley Chandler (Austin), Abbigail Burchfield (Jackson) and Luke Woodruff; his great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Caleb Walker, Harrison, Hadley, David, Nathan Stowers and Kynley Woodruff; his sisters, Macle Thornton, Sue Breeding (Raymond) and Patsy Carter (Jackie); and his sister-in-law Jane Atkins. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
