It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mervin Owens of Decatur, Alabama, who passed away on August 21, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Owens and Pearlie Mae Owens; his daughter Becky Thomas; and his brother Edward Owens. He is survived by: his wife Bernice Owens; his daughters, Bridget Easterly and Denise Rose (Steve); his brother Kenneth Owens; his son-in-law Larry Thomas; his grandchildren, Jessica McLendon, Nick Reid, Ryan Easterly, Joy Easterly, Terry-Lynn Easterly, Melanie Flynt (Raece) and Julianna Woolard (Nathan); and his great grandchildren, Ava McLendon, Anna McLendon, McCauley Flynt, Asher Woolard and Adeline Woolard Pallbearers.
