We announce the death of Arthie V. Carter of Detroit, Alabama, who passed away on July 9, 2026, at the age of 90. Arthie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleat Carter and Ozell Carter; his wife Sybil Ray Smith; his children, Debra King and Tony Carter; and his siblings, J. C. Carter, Floyd Carter, Lecil Carter, Ray Carter, Maxine Boone, Opal Irvin and Shirley Ann Carter.
He is survived by: his daughters, Missy Hathcock (Travis) of Sulligent, AL and Teresa Mordecai (Tim) of Detroit, AL; and his son-in-law Hershel Ray King of Detroit, AL. He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren, 36 Great-Grandchildren, and 7 GG Grandchildren.
