He is survived by: his children, Danny West, Paul West, Donna West Christensen, Kim West Early and Kelsie West Mayhall (John); his siblings, Marylou Shirah, Tommy West and James West; his stepbrother Hughboy Taylor; and his grandchildren, Brad West, Mason West, Hannah Davis, Emily Wofford and Cassie Teachman. He is also survived by nieces, and nephews.
