We announce the death of Arthur Corbitt Sr. (Dothan, Alabama), who passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 82. Arthur will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Murry and Tommy Lee Murry; his brothers, Robert Murry and Tom Alex; and his granddaughter Khaleesi.
He is survived by: his wife Florence Corbitt; his children, Vanessa Key (George), Arthur Corbitt Jr. (Michelle), Matthew Corbitt and Michael Corbitt; his grandchildren, Marketa Sipp, Markus Sipp, Zorrya Kelley, Arthur Corbitt III, Shawn Corbitt, Kelonie, Kahl, Zephanie and Kadarius; and his siblings, Henry, Ann, Mary R, Chris and Bernice Murry. He is also survived by extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary (814 Headland Ave, Dothan, AL 36303). A celebration of life was held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the New Mt Zion Freewill Baptist Church (336 Rock Hill Cir, Abbeville, AL 36310). A burial was held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery (5872 Co Rd 47, Shorterville, AL 36373).
