He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Lee and Thelma Carraway Baxley; his wife Foye Reeves Baxley; his children, Beth Brannon and Alan Baxley; his siblings, Shirley Phares and Jimmy Baxley; and his brother-in-law George McNeill.

He is survived by: his daughters, Cassandra Canady (Don) and Robin Taylor (Donald Ray); his son-in-law Charlie Brannon; his sisters-in-law, Betty Baxley and Faye Reeves McNeill; his brother Jerome Baxley (Dianne); and his grandchildren, Julie Flint, Jeremy Brannon (Amber), Evan Canady (Kate), Aubree McKnight (Clayton), Paul Baxley, Ana Kight (Matt), Lindsey Barton (Dustin) and Daniel Taylor. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
