He is survived by: his daughters, Brittney Layton (Heath) of Rehobeth and Heather Thorn (George Smith) of Ashford; his sister Edith Phillips of Ashford; his grandchildren, Harper Layton, Presley Layton and Carter Layton; his stepgranddaughter Katie Smith; his nephew Donnie Chambers (Paige); and his niece Stephanie Baker (Jeff).
