He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Uptain and Mamie Uptain; his former wife Cecelia Adams Uptain; and his sons, Rudolph and Randolph Uptain.
He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Uptain; his children, Ron Uptain (Callie) of Phoenix, AZ, Donnie Uptain (Phyllis), Charles Uptain (Melody) and Beverly Rhodes (Doug); his stepchildren, David Parker (Pam), Shon Parker of Atlanta, GA, Larry Parker (Wanda), Carleen Kennedy (Dewayne) and Carol Richburg (John); and his sisters, Bobbie Garnett of Tallassee, AL and Martha Weldon. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Legacy Fund, 901 Montezuma Avenue, Dothan, AL, 36303.
